Frequently Asked Questions

What is the production time on my sculpture?

After the order has been placed, your customized sculpture can take between 12 to 18 weeks to complete, depending on the size and current volume of requests.

Back to FAQ list

How will my sculpture be shipped?

If you live in one of the 48 contiguous states, your sculpture will be handled by a specialized Colorado-based sculpture packaging company that insures, crates, and ships your order.

For larger orders—if the artist’s schedule allows—he enjoys delivering the sculpture personally and being present during installations or dedication ceremonies. On other occasions, the foundry owner has delivered and installed sculptures for an added fee.

Back to FAQ list

How do I install my sculpture?

We’ll send you a PDF detailing the equipment you’ll need as well as an explanation of the process so that you can successfully install your sculpture. If you don’t feel confident installing it yourself, either a local general contractor should be able to install the sculpture or the foundry owner might be available to deliver and install the sculpture for a fee.

Back to FAQ list

How can I donate a sculpture to a non-profit, commercial organization or institution?

Typically, the donor will work with the organization’s funding office to place the order. Donations are usually tax deductible, but we advise consulting your tax attorney or financial advisor for more details.

What can I include on a dedication plaque?

Our studio will help you create a suitable bronze plaque that includes the title of work, artist’s name, year dedicated, and donor name(s). The plaque can also include a brief statement about the sculpture or the purpose for its installation.

What are some other ways I can customize my sculpture?

We have included institution logos, anniversary artwork, math and science symbols, and more for previous clients. The custom elements are usually incorporated across about 3 to 4 inches on the base of the sculpture. You can inquire about the possibilities when filling out our contact form here

What if I want to design the base/pedestal?

If you’re planning on placing the art on a campus, we encourage an affiliated architect works with the artist and the institution to create an appropriate custom solution so that the base harmonizes with the existing architectural style and landscaping. It’s also a great idea to include lighting so that the sculpture can be viewed at night.

Can I set up a payment plan?

Payments can be spread out to accommodate your fundraising process, but the casting can only begin once 50 percent of the funds have been received by the studio, and the sculpture can only be delivered after the full payment has been made.

Back to FAQ list

Can I get a larger or smaller version of the sculpture?

We are working on a smaller version that will be about 19 inches tall, however, we haven’t set a release date yet. Ideally, we will start taking orders for these at the end of 2021.

We are also open to creating a version that’s larger than the current monument size and have considered constructing an edition that’s larger than 20 feet tall. Keep in mind that a larger version would be sculpted from scratch and take more than one year to be delivered.

How do I care for my sculpture?

Bronze sculptures require low maintenance. Some collectors prefer the bronze to age naturally while others like keeping it looking brand new. We will provide you with a booklet that outlines how to care for your sculpture based on your preferences. At minimum, we recommend that the sculpture is cleaned in a manner similar to cleaning a fine automobile, about 2 times per year. Then applying a coat of paste wax followed by rubbing the wax with a terry cloth towel, thus restoring its original luster.
